abolish the use of the Electoral College in the voting process.

This petition is being created due to the outstanding number of negative impacts the electoral college has on the election process. Every four years, we as voters come together to pick our future president but due to the Electoral College there have been times where our opinions and decisions have been overlooked due to the outcome of the electoral college. For example, in the 2000 election George W. Bush won the election with less popular votes than his opponent Al Gore because he still received more electoral votes. There is also the issue of faithless electors which are those electors that vote against the majority of the voters in their state. These issues are the exact reason we should abolish the electoral college and stick strictly to the people's decisions.
