I understand the knee jerk reaction to rush to judgment and push for stricter gun control in the wake of these last 2 heinous incidents. I am a parent of 2 school aged children, a former reserve police officer and avid firearms enthusiast. I see an alarming correlation between these heinous events and others like them all occuring in so called "gun free zones". Criminals and deranged individuals intent on murder do not care in the least that guns are prohibited In a certain area, it just tells them that they will not encounter resistance. I would also like to point out our neighbor to the south, Mexico has VERY strict gun laws. Please, we need do away with "gun free zones" they cause much more harm than good.
