Regents are unecessary end of the year tests that do nothing but put stress on the youth of our state of New York. Teachers focus more on preparing kids for the test then they do on teaching students. For example, if a class is interested in learning more about a certain subject, they are forced to move on. Because of Regents, many students are not able to graduate and are pressured into dropping out of school. You may say that these kids need to study more and be more prepared, but what do they study on? Regents' don't have a direct criteria you can learn and study. You can spend a year studying U.S History and have barely anything that you studied on the test.
