accelerate the construction of high speed rail

Created by Y.M. on November 02, 2014

The US urgently needs a high speed rail network that offers an efficient and clean method of travel. High speed rail technology has long been widely adapted in much of Europe, Japan, and China. The US is falling behind. Current technology can cut Boston-Wash and San Francisco-San Diego travel times by half and reduce energy consumption, air pollution, and green house gas emission. Current plan to have a network by 2029 is way too slow.

Despite clear advantages of high speed rail for intercity travel, airlines and other entrenched interest groups are lobbying Congress to nip competition in the bud. Please sign the petition for the your traveling convenience, for the planet, and for the future of American technology.
