Accept and respect the separation of church and state. Stop alienating secular/atheist Americans who love this country.

Mr. President,
This morning you placed your hand on the bible while being sworn into office. You gave a beautiful, progressive speech championing LGBT rights, gender equality, and the end of climate change. The irony is that the bible you placed your hand on denies and rejects all of those things vehemently. Placing your hand on that bible, and continuing the antiquated tradition of "the benediction," alienates roughly 13% of the population who does not identify with a religion. Atheists, Agnostics and secular-beings love this country. The separation of Church and State ensures we have not only the right to a freedom of religion but also the freedom FROM religion. A government-sponsored national prayer marginalizes us. We are here, respect us; acknowledge us. We are Americans, too.
