Climate change is by far the most important problem in our country and in fact in the entire world. Gun control, Iran's nuclear ambitions, North Korea's nuclear arsenal, Syria and its chemical weapons all pale in respect to this problem. The US must begin to lead the world in slowing the production of greenhouse gases by stopping the use of coal and embarking on a massive national expansion of green energy to replace fossil fuels. It may even be too late to prevent the truly horrific events that will ensue: forced evacuation of major costal cities, massive draughts that destroy food production and ensuing mass migrations of millions of refugees from third world countries such as Bangladesh, more super storms such as Sandy, destruction of fisheries from ocean acidification, and worse
