The 2nd Amendment was originally created to defend ourselves, not just from criminals, but from the gov, and HELP combat any sovereign powers invading our borders. People seem to have lost sight of this fact. That being said I have thought up of a new process in regards to a national or state firearm process for politicians to build upon:
Stage 1: Mental Health History Check
Stage 2: Criminal History Check
Stage 3: Military Like Firearms Proficiency Course.
As i see it, this is merging the best of 3 stances: Liberal: Gun Control, Conservative: Preserve Gun Access, and the idea that US Civilians should be trained in the use of Firearms like Israel, but w/o military service being a requirement.
