The United States should be supporting the membership of Palestine in the United Nations, not rejecting it. The UN was conceived to promote world peace and universal human rights, thus it makes sense to accept the membership bid of the Palestinian state into the world community of states called the UN.
By rejecting the Palestinian membership, the United States puts itself in the awkward position of unquestioningly supporting Israel, which has acted as a rogue state, bullying and bombing its neighbor Palestine in order to justify stealing its land and subjugating its people to blockades of even such benign materials as building materials to build dwellings for peaceful living.
This puts the US in a very dangerous position. We should be careful with our commitments of unilateral support.
