It is unthinkable that we would not accept Syrian orphans and widows seeking refuge from the disasters in their homeland. It runs contrary to who we claim to be as Americans. I am ashamed of my country today as so many are responding out of fear and shredding the Constitution in their wake. Enough is enough. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses, yearning to breath free. The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door.
