The VA turns down 70 to 80 percent of PTSD claims from Veterans when they apply for there benefits knowing the the sick Veteran in most cases will walk away from the process. Do away with having the Veteran write a Stress letter highlighting there combat experience. They have worked with there doctors and explained what they are going through and having to write this letter only brings back more bad memories. It is hard for a combat veteran to write these letters and to have to experience these nightmares all alone again. It has taken a sick Veteran in some cases years and years to reach out for help for the problems of experiencing combat, Seeing heads blown off, bodies blown apart, guts and innards hitting you in the face is a lasting nightmare and not easy to live with.
