Access to prescription discounts for Medicare recipients

Created by L.T. on November 04, 2016

Presently manufactures offer coupons, and other discounts for many medications. These coupons exclude recipients of government benefit programs. Government programs don't cover most of these prescriptions, which makes it very expensive for us to buy them. For example I picked up a medicine, my price was $70. with Medicare part D, the doctor gave me a coupon the price would have been $14. if I had been able to use it. I think the benefit of these coupons should be extended to all people not just the people covered by private insurance plans. People who receive Medicare or other government benefits usually have few resources, we should be able to use any available discounts. Thank you for your consideration.
