Thousands of ordinary German, Austrians and other Europeans are also opening their homes to host refugees flooding into their countries in hope of a new life.
We believe President Barack Obama should follow suite and host at least three refugee families at the White House.
As the self-professed leader of the Free World, and protector of Human Rights and dignity, the President of the US should help set this example of compassion, kindness and generosity.
May it be a first step toward helping the millions of Syrians still in desperate straits.
