5 Dallas police officers have been assassinated and 7 others wounded in attempted assassination based upon a media propagated false perception that American law enforcement target African Americans for murder. These 12 officers join assassinated NYPD officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu - attacked based on the racial divisiveness and false narratives supplied by many media outlets. A proven false narrative starting with the shooting of Michael Brown and continuing today. The Society of Professional Journalists provides ethical guidance to the media which has clearly been violated time and time again (https://www.spj.org/pdf/ethicscode.pdf). For the sake of our nation, Congress needs to hold the mainstream media accountable to those standards and censure them for unethical conduct.
