Accurately Count US Unemployed by Including Those Whose Unemployment Compensation Has Expired in the Unemployment Rate

Currently thousands of unemployed Americans have never had unemployment benefits or can no longer receive unemployment benefits yet do not have jobs. Those whose unemployment benefits have expired or were never eligible, are not considered "unemployed" and the number is growing. The US Department of Labor must do a better job of accurately tracking and counting the true US unemployment rate including discouraged workers, the underemployed and others who are not counted in the official numbers.
