Substance abuse is a disease that is commonly overlooked. It lacks the awareness and community passion for helping others. There are fundraising and awareness months for hiv, cancer, and heart disease. What about a "Run for Recovery" that is made known nationally, such as the relay for life.It is heart breaking to search for things to buy in regards to fundraising on this topic compared to these other diseases.Isn't it just as important? It kills and destroys individuals and families worldwide. Is red-ribbon week enough to educate the children of our future or do they think they recieved a cool red bracelet at school and don't understand the true meaning. This topic needs to be a priority and if not free care atleast affordable!
