Acknowledge and take action against the illegal slaughter of whales in the southern ocean by the Japanese Government.

This petition is for the Obama administration to fulfill a global responsibility and put an end to the illegal whaling by the Japan in the Southern Ocean. This petition also calls for a refusal to sign the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement until Japan agrees to pull its whaling fleet from the Southern Ocean and ban the capture and slaughter of dolphins. The murder of these highly intelligent creatures is unacceptable and things like the "traditional" slaughter in Taiji should not be allowed to happen. Recently India’s Ministry of Environment and Forests classified these creatures as non-human persons and banned their display and captivity in India. Its time we followed suit and protected these creatures before they are lost forever. Lets start with the Southern Ocean and Taiji.
