Immigrants into the US are becoming less willing to submit to the ethnocide that most call "assimilation." The United States does not have an official language, in fact the founding fathers recognized that to attack ones language was to breed inherent mistrust and conflict. Language is a basic human right and it is being discriminated against throughout American education, workplace, and politics. Current and historical ESL practices are subtractive and the mainstream American population is monolingual - these facts are generating a serious disconnect for the immigrant and an inherited racism in the mainstream culture. The ending result is terror, both for the individuals living through legalized ethnocide and for the country.
