Acknowledge the fact that this petition site is designed only to further the reputation of the federal government.

In the majority of responses to petitions this site has not addressed the specific measures that the respective petitions mention or their feasibility/efficacy, but rather has used the responses as a way to highlight current government policy having to do with the general topic of the petition. People do not write/sign petitions to learn about government policy or to hear about all the great things government is doing. People petition their government because they want changes in policy. All that the petition responses have provided has been to point out positive policies by the government (in a rather patronizing way), rather than address the specifics of the petition. As such this site makes a mockery of the people's right to petition the federal government.
