Are You or Someone You Know The Mother of a Special Education Student?
Currently, there are close to 6 million students receiving special education and or related services in the United States. The rise in the prevalence of children diagnosed with disabilities demands that we as a country take “an inaugural double-take” at how we celebrate and honor mothers of special education students in this centennial year.
Let us not be remiss in honoring mothers of special education students on this special centennial Mother’s Day 2014. Mothers raising children living with special needs deserve special recognition and honorable mention for their often obscured and tireless dedication to their families on Mother’s Day and every day. Let’s make this “The First Special Mother’s Day in 100 Years!
