President Obama finally brought up climate change this week in his State Of The Union address. Unfortunately, he failed to mention the number one contributor of greenhouse gasses, animal agriculture. According to the United Nations Environment Programme, new research revealed that approximately 80% of greenhouse gasses are from animal agriculture.
Let us urge President Obama to encourage American consumers and businesses to make changes to reduce these emissions.
Rather than encouraging Americans to become more energy efficient, why not encourage them to adopt meatless Mondays? Why not tell them adopting a meatless diet is more beneficial to the environment than buying a hybrid automobile? Why not encourage food producers to use less animal products?
