acknowledge that online piracy is not a problem but a symptom of the legacy media companies under-serving customers.

Created by P.T. on January 25, 2012

It has been clear for some time that the legacy media companies such as Disney, EMI, and NBC do not understand the internet and refuse to adapt and change their business models to a changing world. Many companies have adapted and yet these companies are refusing to do so.

Instead they bribe and cajole politicians with lies and falsified data to turn the government into their muscle to fight a "scourge" that they themselves created. It is very clear that online piracy is not the real problem at all. It is, in fact, a symptom of the real problem, which is that they companies are vastly under-serving their customers.

These companies refuse to provide their content and services conveniently at a fair and reasonable price. The White House must recognize this and do their own fact checking.
