Acknowledge the Possibility of a Free Scottish State and to Stand with Whatever Decision the Scottish People Make

Created by C.K. on November 14, 2012

With the possibility of a referendum occurring in the United Kingdom which could make Scotland its own Sovereign Nation, we propose that the United States' Government officially declare to Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond and British Prime Minister David Cameron that the United States of America will stand with whatever decision is made by the Scottish People. This should be seen as neither an endorsement nor a condemnation of a Free Scottish state, but rather an assurance that whatever decision is made, the United States will stand by the decision of the Scottish People. Furthermore, if the people of Scotland choose independence the United States should be among the first Governments of the world officially to recognize said independence.
