Acknowledge that the right to bear arms carries with it a responsibility as written in the Constitution.

Created by J.H. on January 17, 2013

We believe that the right to bear arms, as written in the Constitution, is contingent upon the need for state security, not for personal security. In order to fully support the Second Amendment we require that all citizens who choose to own guns for protection be active members in a government regulated militia - namely state and local police and/or the National Guard - to train communally and thus be prepared to defend the community at large when called upon to do so. We recognize that arms not intended for protection, but for hunting, must be regulated separately with guidelines limiting weapons to those appropriate for hunting.
