acknowledge school bullying as a national issue and work with Congress to pass a Anti-Bullying law.

Created by P.X. on September 23, 2011

We are in need of a national anti-bullying law that will prohibit harassment, intimidation, and bullying within our schools.

Children should feel safe in our schools, regardless of their religion, perceived sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and disability. However, for many students, school has become a place of fear because teachers, administrators, and communities fail to address the issue. Bullying contributes to an environment that is not conducive to learning -- those who are bullied have their right to an education and safe environment interfered with.

Some victims of bullying have committed suicide, but others continue on with the scars. Bullying should never happen in our schools. It is time for us as a nation to stand against bullying in schools.
