Acknowledge slugs as an endangered species. Grant them the right to live in peace. Create slug hunting(gathering) limits

Created by R.D. on October 11, 2011

We the undersigned, request the recognition of slugs as an endangered species and the channeling of government funding to anti-slug-hunting organizations.
Slugs are fewer and fewer each year. Their numbers dwindle, and with them the important effect that they have on our ecosystem. Recent study shows that there are 13% fewer slugs in the United states now in 2011 than there were in 2007. This is not only do to the occasional careless human step, but additionally and primarily as a direct result of the increased demand for slug-related dishes in american restaurants, resulting in the "over-slugging" - as it has come to be known - of the slugs habitats. It has to stop. The slug comprises one of the most important parts of the garden and farm ecosystems.
