Acknowledge & support Palestinian nonviolent resistance against occupation

Created by T.I. on March 17, 2013

President Obama -- on your trip to the Middle East next week, you should acknowledge and praise Palestinian human rights defenders.

You have repeatedly called upon Palestinians to use nonviolence as a means of drawing attention to their suffering under occupation. Palestinians have engaged in nonviolent resistance for decades; their resilience despite almost a half century of Israeli occupation is the core of that truth.

Palestinians in villages across the West Bank have also organized protests against segregation and occupation that bear striking similarity to the resistance against Jim Crow led by Dr. King.

This week, we urge you to visit one such village, Nabi Saleh. On the plane, read a recent NYT piece by Ben Ehrenreich about Nabi Saleh: http://nyti.ms/ZgNX0k
