I believe that medical debt shouldn't be a factor in someone's credit history only acquired debt. No one can predict when and if they or a family member will get injured or ill and can't predict the exact cost of that debt. The credit bureaus love it when one bill is skipped regardless of medical or acquired debt and like many Americans nowadays are in this situation because of the loss of unemployment and many dipping into their savings to pay for their bills. Long story short, many Americans can't afford this type of debt to be affecting their credit. Im not saying that medical debt shouldn't be excluded but measures should be in place to give consumers a chance to pay these debts over time without affecting their credit scores.
