Act on the 1.3 Trillion Dollars of Student Loan Debt and Increasing Tuition Cost

Created by S.M. on March 24, 2015

The amount of student debt, according to Mark Cuban's website Collegedebt.com, is $1.3 Trillion Dollars. Tuition costs are increasing forcing students to take out more loans. Education is the building block for a more innovative America. Congress must act, there will be a point where the amount of student loans for any degree will outweigh the benefits. Putting a cap on the amount of loans a college is allowed to accept from each student, or a cap on the amount of loans a student can take out, could force universities to decrease tuition. Congress and the Obama administration need to agree that education is a priority and something needs to be done.
