In light of the ongoing and escalating attacks against the Syrian people by their government, we petition the President to engage in the Syrian conflict by either issuing harsh measures against Assad and his administration that force his hand, or by giving conditional aid to the Opposition in any number of ways, including across-the-board support of the the UN Security Council's independent investigation into the recent chemical attacks upon women and children.
We realize that by acting we change outcomes, and though the potential for further conflict as a result of our involvement is likely, we cannot continue to stand idly by in the face of already performed acts of aggression by a government against its people.
