Act on the demands of District of Columbia residents for statehood and full representation in Congress

Created by R.N. on November 16, 2012

Recognize the right of the 617,000 citizens of the District of Columbia, as taxpayers and U.S. citizens, to full voting representation in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Instead of powerless "shadow representatives," we demand the representation granted every state in the Union - two senators and representation in the House based on population. These are more than 600,000 Americans who have no vote in Congress.

We ask you, as President, to publicly endorse D.C. voting rights and to initiate steps to grant D.C. either full statehood or voting rights, short of statehood, that are on par with those of other citizens.
