act to immediately bring a majority of troops home and close 75% or more of our overseas military installations.

The purpose of this petition is to encourage our legislators to bring home the majority of our troops stationed overseas. By closing 75% or more of our military installations overseas we can reduce overall defense spending even as our troops are stationed at currently closed or undermanned military installations located in the CONUS. Our troops can be re-purposed to secure our borders and airports, and rebuild our infrastructure or work on national initiatives such as the High Speed Light Rail projects which have been conceived. Let our troops serve a purpose here and spend their money here while the re-opened installations create jobs here. This would provide an instant economic stimulus while utilizing monies already apportioned to the defense budget.
