Act immediately to fight skin cancer.

Created by M.B. on May 22, 2015

In 2014, the US Surgeon General issued A Call to Action on skin cancer stating: "Even though most skin cancers can be prevented, rates of skin cancer, including melanoma, are increasing in the United States." Each year there are nearly 5 million new cases of skin cancers diagnosed, more than breast, prostate, lung and colon cancer cancers combined.

Despite the growing public health epidemic, the last time a new sunscreen ingredient was approved was in the 1990s. Eight new sunscreen ingredients have been awaiting review since 2002. These products have been used safely in other countries, in some cases for more than 15 years.

Americans deserve access to the best technology in skin cancer prevention. Please help us petition the government to #freethesunscreens
