Activate members of the National Guard to provide armed security at public schools.

Created by K.H. on December 17, 2012

In the wake of the Sandy Hook shootings, it is apparent that armed security is necessary in our Public Schools. Members of the National Guard, regardless of their MOS, are typically trained to conduct Area Security in one form or another, understand use of force, and are required to demonstrate proficiency in marksmanship every year.

Members of the National Guard sometimes struggle to find civilian employment, as many employers see mandatory drill weekends, annual training, and the possibility of deployment as counter-productive to their organizations.

By activating 2 National Guard Soldiers for every school building, over 200,000 jobs are created to facilitate unemployed National Guard soldiers utilizing a skill set they already have, and schools would be far more secure.
