The relation between the United States and Vietnam is on the path of cooperation for economic partnership and peaceful developments in the region. We, the Vietnamese people from around the world, call upon the White House to put forth firm and robust sanctions against China for blatantly disregarding the current internationally recognized sea laws [UNCLOS] and territorial boundaries with the recent deployment of massive and damaging oil rig Haiyang 981 into Vietnam's water.
Rhetorical condemnation will not be enough. We need the White House to take into considerations effective measures of economic sanctions against China.
This stance will be a concrete evidence of the US commitment to "rebalancing" to Asia.
