Actively pursue a Nuclear Free Zone in the Middle East and use all possible tools to seek Israel's support for it.

It may be that the smartest strategy for deterring Iran's nuclear push would be for Israel to actively pursue a nuclear-free zone for the entire Mideast. The Sunni Arab states, Turkey AND Iran have long sought a nuclear free zone. If Israel has the courage to endorse nuclear non-proliferation, a diplomatic solution might actually evolve. Nearly two-thirds of Israeli Jews favor establishing a nuclear-free zone in the Middle East, according to a November poll.
Later this year, the United Nations, U.S., Russia and Britain will hold a conference in Finland on a Mideast nuclear-free zone. The administration should all of its tools – including potential withdrawal of foreign military financing – to obtain active Israeli support for this effort.
