The federal government needs to take action to change the federal wage to one that a person could support a family of four while only having to hold one job. This action will reduce poverty rates by bringing people's wages up. this will also help the economy, because when people are struggling less just to get by, they will be more willing to buy consumer goods and strengthen the economy. This is more of a human rights issue as we sell ourselves as the best country on earth but yet we still have more than 10% of our population struggling just to get by.
