Actually cut through the red tape and help people affected by Sandy.

Created by R.H. on December 01, 2012

Occupy Sandy's hard-working responders out in Staten Island got word from the Mayor's Office that all outdoor and sidewalk relief efforts must shut down immediately. They also learned that sidewalk pop-up free mutual aid stations like the ones we've set up across the city will be considered "vendors" and shut down as well.

FEMA is nowhere to be found for these people, volunteers from Occupy and other groups are pumping out basements, cleaning people's houses, giving them generators, heaters and food. These are working class, working poor and poor people that have been abandoned to die by their landlords in most cases. If FEMA cannot lead then let them follow Occupy's model and actually start helping people. Make landlords repair their properties. Do something besides chase their tails!
