Actually fire a full auto rifle and a similar semi-auto rifle before presenting any ban on semi-auto firearm.

Require the President and VP, every Senator and every House Representative to fire 200 rounds through an M-16/AK rifle on full-auto. And then fire 200 rounds through an AR/AK semi-auto. They will understand what an "Assault Rifle" really is. Anyone using a semi-auto rifle to defend their family or self from any criminal with a fully- auto weapon will find themselves seriously out gunned. An AR is not an "Assault Rifle" or substitute for one. Comparing a Full-auto weapon to an AR-15 is like comparing a Winchester lever action rifle to those used by Gen. Custers troops. Assault Rifles were banned years ago and legal owned full-auto weapons are limited to those registered before the ban and USGov does background checks, collects $200 tax and the USGov knows exactly where they are located.
