Actually follow the policy of basing legislation on scientific fact by removing cannabis from the federal drug schedule.

Despite the administration's policy of basing policy on science instead of ideology, it fails to do so with regard to cannabis related policy.
Scientific reports commissioned by the US government over 60+ years clearly indicate that cannabis is less harmful than majority of FDA approved prescription drugs and that it is in fact beneficial medically and economically. Reports even state that the prohibition of cannabis is destructive to society.
The US gov't owns US Patent #6630507 which clearly states the medical qualities of cannabinoids.
Synthetic THC is on schedule III.
Feds fail to state that while cannabis accounts for a majority of voluntary admissions to treatment centres, most patients are mandated by the courts either to go to rehab or jail.
Acknowledge facts, remove from schedule.
