Actually forgive student loans, instead of speeding up a repayment program that you had in place before the 1st petition

Created by D.A. on October 30, 2011

During the economic recession, many college graduates were forced to deal with a shrinking job market. Even though we, the college students, did everything correctly, we still can't find jobs after graduation. The government, however, expects you to pay off your loans, even though graduates may only be making minimum wage instead of the typical $30,000 or greater a year that most majors should earn after graduation. The statement released regarding the last petition on this subject said that the government was going to speed up a plan that they had already developed. This plan wants you to pay for 20 yrs, before your loans are forgiven. I have an engineering degree, and I personally can't afford to pay anything more than my current bills.
