We have witnessed the "Big Banks" make two "settlements" in the past year. Of which the first 25 Billion payoff, only 996 million was distributed nationally to distressed homeowners the stipulation being that the home owner already be foreclosed upon, with only a maximum of $2,000 per family. The 2nd current "settlement" is also questionable at best. It supplants a "Actual Investigation" into the countless unethical past practices excercised - and even presently - that effective circumvent accountability for the specific wrongs promulgated. Too many violations of Law to number here. On the front end of this issue is the still very real Sub-prime foreclosure crisis. On the back end, here and now, we have (a key element of a strong American economy) a resultant crippled real estate market.
