Actually hold mortgage companies, banks, etc accountable for ripping off consumers. What they are doing now does not.

Mortgage companies and banks in business to lend money to consumers in order to purchase a home, usually as their residence, have been getting away with unethical and illegal business practices way before the housing crisis hit and they continue to commit these same offenses and get away with them. The government programs now in place to supposedly fix this problem do not address past offenses committed against the consumers. They are like a smoke screen to make the public believe they are trying to help but these companies don't pay attention and continue with these practices. They should be held accountable for past and future offenses and be forced to stop committing these offenses.
