The response we got to the Abolish the TSA petition did not address the criticisms listed therein. It was a simple bit of PR indicating why it exists and what it does, but it does not even touch upon the rights abuses, the waste, the inefficiency, and ineffectiveness that the organization was called on.
Even more insulting was that the response to our petition to abolish the TSA was written by the Administrator of the TSA, John Pistole- hardly an objective source. Had he addressed the specific criticisms of his organization, it might have been less so, but all we received were platitudes from a man attempting to justify and keep his job while continuing to do it poorly and illegally.
To paraphrase Benjamin Franklin, those who would trade essential liberties for safety deserve neither.
