Every petition I've seen, regardless of the amount of signatures, seems to received a boiler plant "Thanks, but we don't agree" response. What's the point of giving an outlet to the people, when you'll dismiss any that don't fall in line with your already stated policies? "The people have spoken" should mean something. Rather than providing dismissive rebuttals of these petitions, take action on them, even if that action is just a wider debate.
