Public restrooms should be equipped with adult changing tables for non-ambulatory individuals requiring diaper changes and total care. Airports, hotels, malls, stores, parks, tourist attractions, movie theaters, schools, medical offices and hospitals, do not provide the proper accommodations and modifications for persons with severe disabilities. No child, teen or adult deserves to be placed on a dirty restroom floor or be openly displayed in a public place for a diaper change, nor should they suffer sitting in a soiled diaper for any amount of time, simply because there are no adult changing tables in public restrooms. We need to treat all individuals with disabilities with the dignity they deserve and ensure the ADA civil rights law that was enacted in 1990 to protect them, is enforced.
