Add "Added Sugars" to Nutrition Facts

Created by C.T. on December 04, 2014

In today's society, manufacturers of foods add artificial sugars to their products and are not listed in the Nutrition Facts of the product(s). Diet soda is a big example of this. If it says 0 grams of sugar, odds are there are artificial sugars of an amount unknown by the consumer. The FDA needs to add "Added Sugars" to the Nutrition Facts so the unhealthy sugars added to products isn't hidden from the consumer. People, especially ones who are trying to eat healthier, are highly unaware of the amount of sugar they consume in a day, and making this change this would fix that problem. Sure, it may be a threat to big businesses, but we as people deserve to know what we are consuming in our daily lives so we can live them healthier.
