As a result of the recent fiasco in Kentucky, as well as other incidents following the legalization of gay marriage nationwide, I deem it necessary to further clarify what the definition of "separation of church and state" means in the Constitution.
I am of the opinion, that government workers of all kinds, are technically part of the state, and as such, have no authority to put forward religious views before the law, as that would go against a separation of church and state.
To further clarify; no government worker, on any level be it municipal, state, federal, etc. can use religious belief as an excuse to prevent them from carrying out their duty for the state.
This would, and should, extend to all branches and jobs within the government, not just the current matter of marriage.
