On January 6, 2012, activists and supporters were dealt a heavy blow by Ticketmaster when ticket sales for the official Inaugural Ball were released a day earlier than promised. As a result, many were left in a dust of confusion and frustration as neither Ticketmaster nor the Presidential Inaugural Committee made right on their promise—or even issue a real apology. In less than three hours after the blunder, ball tickets were sold out and Ticketmaster was misleading by promising Monday ticket sales and did not rescind the Sunday ticket sales.
It may be only two weeks away, but in order to rectify this situation, we recommend strongly that the Presidential Inaugural Committee add another Inaugural Ball to the schedule, and allow supporters a fair opportunity to purchase tickets.
