Add a Balanced Budget Amendment to the United States Constitution in order to eliminate the national debt.

Created by R.B. on November 14, 2012

The national debt has created a national security vulnerability. The United States can not, and should not be in debt to any other nation. Indebtedness creates a situation which may influence political decisions in regards to international relations with competing countries. A Balanced Budget Amendment would also ensure that political leaders are held fiscally and morally accountable to ensure that government spending is done in the most logical and responsible manner. It will also ensure that the United States' credit standings are maintained. Lastly, a financially independent United States will be safeguarded from financial crisis and other economic disasters. Any future financial surpluses should be managed in a responsible manner that ensures the United States will not go into debt.
