Add Brazil to the Visa Waiver Program. More visits from the top spending tourists per capita will benefit our economy!

Created by T.H. on January 23, 2012

The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) allows citizens from member countries to visit the U.S. for 90 days without a Visa. There are 36 countries in this program, including tiny countries like Liechtenstein & San Marino. Brazil (6th largest economy) has experienced a rapid rise of middle class incomes. This means a lot of money to be spent on "luxury" goods and these name brand products are much cheaper in the U.S. than Brazil. Our visa requirement is a major hurdle Brazilian's high-spending tourism. The White House recently announced increased staffing at our Embassies in Brazil. Why spend the extra money when the requirement can be lifted all together?

Adding Brazil to the VWP will also bring increased business exchange. Brazil will drop the Visa requirement for U.S. citizens if we do so first
